About the ESSAR Centre

The ESSAR Centre is the only facility of its kind in Northern Ontario.  It serve’s as one of the finest venues for sporting events, community events, entertainment, trade shows, conferences and much more.  

For sporting events, the ESSAR Centre holds a capacity of 5,000 seats (including Standing Room).   The facility is home of the Soo Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League.  When transformed into an entertainment venue, the facility is capable of holding 6,100 people for all centre-staged events.  The ESSAR Centre has the ability to be converted into a multitude of different set ups ranging from hockey arenas, banquet layouts, and trade show floors just to name a few.

Taking in a Soo Greyhounds game, hosting a corporate meeting, or organizing a staff party -the ESSAR Centre’s catering services are there to serve your every need.  Inside the facility there are four main concessions located in each corner of the concourse plus an additional two located on the event level.  As well a main kitchen is located on the event level, which offers an extensive range of food services for the 13 private suites, boardrooms, and event rooms. Each are coordinated through the facilities catering department.
